Three themes

Dealing with setbacks

From a bus crash at eight to gold in Paris. What helps when recovery takes years.

Performance pressure

What you do when everything comes down to one moment. On rhythm, trust and deliberately skipping a competition.

Inclusion in the workplace

The difference between "great that you can do this" and "great that you do this". What that changes in a team.

Dealing with setbacks

For whom: teams and organisations going through change, healthcare, education.

The audience hears: how you learn to walk again, literally. Why small measurable steps work. How you build your own team and equipment around you without losing control.

"On King's Night 2018 Kimberly ran her first races in Wijchen: 14.83 over 100 metres. Six years later she ran 12.46, and that was a world record."

Exhausted on the track after a huge training session

Performance pressure

For whom: teams and managers facing peak moments, sports federations, talent programmes.

The audience hears: why in 2024 she skipped the World Championships in Kobe to stay in her own rhythm. How trust in the people around you takes away stress. How you perform in difficult circumstances.

"In May 2024 Kimberly skipped the World Championships in Kobe to keep training and racing in the Netherlands. On 9 May she ran a 200 metres world record in Vught."

NOS Paralympic Games

Inclusion in the workplace

For whom: HR, boards, municipalities, education and healthcare organisations.

The audience hears: about her work in care for people with disabilities and her career as an athlete with a prosthesis. What changes when the environment, the team and the equipment are adapted to the person.

"When applying for a job in care, Kimberly did not mention her prosthesis. Later she did talk about it, including to clients. For them it proved valuable: they saw how far you can get with it."
